We are Ready for Online Testing at Old Bonhomme

The Missouri Assessment Program assesses students’ progress toward mastery of the Show-Me Standards, which are the educational standards in Missouri. The Grade-Level Assessment is a yearly standards-based test that measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Missouri.
All students in grades 3-8 in Missouri will take the grade level assessment. English Language Arts and Mathematics are administered in all grades. Science is administered in grades 5 and 8.

This spring our third and fourth grade students will take the Grade-Level Assessment online. We want to reassure you that they are ready! Our teaching staff has been preparing your children for these test since kindergarten by delivering excellent curriculum instruction embedded with technology usage. Our students have been taking benchmark Discovery Education tests online four times a year since they were in kindergarten.  These benchmark tests help us know where your child is at and what we still need to teach before he or she moves on to the next grade level.  This gives your child experience taking an online test and our teachers information to make better decisions about what they are teaching.

There is only one test for each content area. Students will be taking one test each day and be finished after two days. This is great news for our students, who in the past have had to take three different assessments in both content areas and it was drawn out over a week. The testing schedule is being finalized and will be sent out soon.

Between now and testing time, continue to do all the things you do everyday to help your child be the best they can be.
·      Go to bed at the same time every night.
·      Get 8-10 hours of sleep.
·      Wake up at the same time every day.
·      Eat a nutritious breakfast, snack, lunch, and dinner.
·      Establish a place in your home for them to complete their homework.
·      Play and exercise.
·      Limit the amount of time they have on electronics.
·      Do not store electronics in your child’s bedroom.
