This semester we are hosting a Strong Parent group at Old Bonhomme. We will share coffee and treats while using a program called The Strong Parent Project to facilitate our conversations, learn, and share parenting tips and strategies. Right now our group plans on meeting four times throughout the semester. On Saturday February 20, March 5, April 2, and April 16 from 8:30 to 9:30 A.M. in the OB Conference Room. You can commit to one or all of the sessions. If needed, child care will be provided. Click here to enroll in the program.

Presenters Needed - Week of January 25
Elementary is a time for children to be exposed to different career opportunities. We are looking for parents and/or grandparents to come in and present about their career. During the thirty-minute presentation, we would like for the following points to be addressed:
- Describe your career
- What subjects you have to be good at to have this career
- Some of the things you did as an elementary student that led you to this career
- What character traits are important to have in this career field
- Discuss what kind of training you received to be in this career

Happy Veterans Day!
Old Bonhomme appreciates everything our Veterans have done to protect our country and our freedom. Please take a moment to watch the slide show our Old Bonhomme family put together to honor our Veterans. Ms. Ladue and the OB Show Choir made it extra special by recording a song to put with the slides.

Where is Hayley Arnold?
Representing Missouri and networking with people across the country at the Third White House Convening for College and Career Readiness to learn how to help prepare our students for postsecondary success.
Learning how to use metrics to make an impact on student outcomes.
This was very cool! Our PLC-RtI databases are a step in the right direction. A school district in California has 3000 metrics they use to help make student driven data informed decisions. Counselors have 14 metrics to look at and impact. Check out their free online book on the process.
Participating in a focus group for the American Counseling Association. Which I received a free membership to for participating. Yes!
Sharing the resources, I have worked on the last decade with the state of Missouri by leading a discussion about College & Career Readiness (CCR) at the Elementary Level.
During this session, I learned about Working Wednesdays. This is when parents and community members create a minute video about their career and submit it to the school to show students. I also learned about Counselor Summits. This is when district counselors plan and present their own professional development during release days.
The connections I have made and materials I have been exposed to will help us plan College and Career Readiness activities at Old Bonhomme and throughout the Ladue School District. As we were winding up our work today our keynote asked Are You Willing to Be Part of the Movement?
I Am! If you are.....
Stephanie Towe and I have started meeting to make an impact at Old Bonhomme. Let one of us know if you would like to join us to continue to build upon the work we are doing at OB.
